Kids Love Benderoos
65Benderoos Captures Your Child's Imagination
If you've been around for any length of time on this earth then you've probably heard of Benderoos. They're the fun-filled, wax covered strings that you can make thousands of designs with.
They're basically pipe cleaners that come in various rainbow and neon colors and are very pliable so they can be bent into whatever shapes you can dream of. Parents seem to like them because they can be re-used and aren't messy (unless they get stomped into the carpet). Children like them because they can spend hours creating their own personal art pieces.
Benderoos are similar to "Wikki Sticks" (http://www.wikkistix.com/). This is a good site to see what different types of projects can be made with them. I also read this article ( http://www.kfvs12.com/Global/story.asp?S=9937682) from a teacher in Missouri who uses them to help her students learn their alphabet and math.
I've read a lot of reviews about these wax covered strings and it seems like most people give them a thumbs up. I guess anything that will help your children learn and stimulate their creative juices (not to mention keeping them occupied for hours) can't be all bad. I think I might go buy some just to see what kind of fun I can have, too.
